- Frequently asked questions
Nearly everyone who wants to buy Ultra Bee 2026 asks the same first question: X or T? The two share every mechanical part – 24.5 kW, 520 Nm, 74 V 60 Ah, 240 mm forks – and differ only in road equipment and type approval. This guide settles the choice in six steps, then covers price, paperwork and delivery, from the dealer that sells both.
Prices are correct at the time of writing; the Ultra Bee HP product page shows live stock by model and colour, so check it before you buy Ultra Bee 2026.

Step 1 – Decide where you will ride before you buy Ultra Bee 2026
Write down where the bike will be ridden over the next year. If every answer is a track, a pay-and-play venue or private land, the X is the right bike and the T’s road kit is dead weight. If any answer involves riding from home, a green lane, a road link between trails or a commute, only the T can do it legally. There is no in-between: an X cannot be registered later.
| Ultra Bee HP X | Ultra Bee HP T | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | £5,999 | £6,295 |
| Powertrain | 24.5 kW peak, 520 Nm, 74 V 60 Ah | Identical |
| Road legal | No – off-road only | Yes – type-approved L3e motorcycle |
| Lights, mirrors, horn, plate mount | No | Yes |
| Licence | None off-road | A1 (125-equivalent) class: from 17 on a CBT with L-plates, or a full A1/A2/A licence |
| Registration and tax | None | DVLA registration with the certificate of conformity; £27 a year tax |
| Best for | Tracks, trails, private land | Riding to the trail, green lanes, commuting |

Step 2 – Check the licence position for the T
Two homologations, one bike. The Ultra Bee HP X is off-road only: no type approval, no registration, private land and venues with permission. The Ultra Bee HP T is type-approved as an L3e motorcycle in the A1 (125-equivalent) class, so it can be registered with the DVLA, taxed, insured and ridden on the road – from 17 on a provisional licence with a CBT and L-plates, or on a full A1, A2 or A licence. GOV.UK lists the licence categories.
Fitting lights to an X does not make it a T. Type approval is a factory process, and it is the certificate of conformity that comes with the T that lets the DVLA register it.
If you are 16, the T is not an option yet – the road-legal Sur-Ron for 16-year-olds is the Light Bee L1E. If you hold a car licence only, you will need a CBT and L-plates. If you already have a full motorcycle licence, the T is the simplest £296 you will ever spend.
Step 3 – Compare the price and what is included
The 2026 HP X is £5,999 and the HP T is £6,295, both including VAT, at Surron E-Bikes. Both include the 74 V 60 Ah battery, the 1000 W on-board charger, a pre-delivery inspection and a manufacturer warranty handled in our Coalville workshop; the T adds the certificate of conformity. Van delivery is £19.99 within 150 miles; collection is free.
Budget for the following and nothing else:
| Cost | Ultra Bee HP |
|---|---|
| Bike | X £5,999 / T £6,295 inc. VAT |
| Delivery / collection | £19.99 within 150 miles / free |
| Registration (T only) | DVLA first registration; certificate of conformity supplied |
| Vehicle tax (T only) | £27 a year – the lowest motorcycle band |
| Electricity per full charge | Well under £1 |
| Servicing | Pads, belt and chain check, tyres, torque check |
| Insurance | Off-road policy for the X; road policy for the T |
The T’s extra running costs – registration, tax, road insurance – are small, and in return the bike can go anywhere a 125 can.
Step 4 – Order and pay
- Tell us which Ultra Bee HP you want – online through the listing, by WhatsApp, or in person.
- Decide whether you want it delivered (our van covers 150 miles from Coalville for £19.99) or whether you will collect it for free.
- Settle the invoice by bank transfer, using the details we email you, or in crypto if you prefer.
- Leave the rest to the workshop: inspection, charge, torque check, then a delivery date or a “ready to collect” message, all inside 24 hours of payment clearing.
A lot of customers reserve first and pay the rest later. Pay 50% by bank transfer or crypto, we take the bike off sale, and you clear the balance before delivery or collection – details are on our finance and reservations page. Message us before paying a deposit so we can confirm your colour is physically in stock.
Ready to buy Ultra Bee 2026?
Tell us X or T, Carbon Black or Desert Brown, and your postcode. We confirm stock and a delivered price the same day.
Step 5 – Delivery, inspection and – for the T – registration
Delivery is handled by us, not a parcel courier. Once your payment clears the Ultra Bee HP is inspected, charged and loaded into our van; within 150 miles of Coalville that costs £19.99, and for longer trips we quote first. Free collection is always available, and we will show you the charger, the battery removal and the ride modes before you head home.
You will hear from us at every stage – confirmation, a date, and a message on the day – and our delivery page covers the small print on damage, returns and cancellations.
If you buy Ultra Bee 2026 in T form, registration follows delivery: insure it on the frame number, send the DVLA form V55/4 with the certificate of conformity, ID, the £55 first registration fee and £27 tax, then fit the plate when the V5C arrives. We talk every T buyer through it.

Step 6 – Set it up and ride
On hand-over we set the power mode, traction control level and energy recovery for the rider, show you the battery and on-board charger, and pair the app for anti-theft alerts. Then the first ride:
- Charge the battery fully indoors and fit it until it clicks.
- Check tyre pressures, the chain tension and that both brakes bite firmly.
- Set the seat height so the rider can get a foot down, and select Mode 1.
- Ride slowly on flat ground first – the throttle is instant and there is no clutch to modulate it.
- Step up a mode only when the rider is bored of the current one, not before.
Running costs are close to nothing. A full charge of the 74 V 60 Ah battery costs pence at domestic electricity rates, there is no oil, no filters, no spark plugs and no clutch, and the consumables are the same as any small off-road bike: brake pads, chain and sprockets, tyres and the odd wheel bearing, all of which we stock as genuine Ultra Bee HP parts.
The battery is the part to look after. Charge it indoors at room temperature (about 2.5 hours from 20% to 80%), avoid leaving it flat for weeks, and store it around half charge if the bike is being put away for winter. Treated that way it will comfortably outlast the wear items around it.
- A CE-marked helmet (a motocross lid, not a bicycle helmet), goggles, gloves and proper boots.
- A chest protector and knee guards for younger riders – the bike is quick enough to deserve them.
- A good lock and, if the bike lives in a shed, a ground anchor; electric dirt bikes are attractive to thieves because they are quiet and light.
- A spare set of brake pads and a chain lube – the two things that run out first.

Ultra Bee 2026 vs the rest of the range
If you are not yet sure the Ultra Bee is the right size of bike, here is the whole 2026 range.
| Bike | Peak power | Weight | Range | Road legal | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hyper Bee 2026 | 8 kW | 39 kg | 56 km | No | £2,995 |
| Light Bee X 2026 | 10 kW | 59 kg | 75 km | No | From £3,295 |
| Light Bee L1E 2026 | 10 kW | 62 kg | 75 km | Yes – L1e moped | £4,499 |
| Ultra Bee HP 2026 | 24.5 kW | 88.5 kg | 115 km | HP T only | From £5,999 |
The Ultra Bee HP is the bike for experienced riders who want petrol-250 pace. Newer riders and anyone under about 1.7 m will be happier on the Light Bee X, and 16-year-olds who need the road should look at the L1E.
The near-silent motor is a real advantage when it comes to venues. Tracks close to housing that limit petrol sessions will often run extra electric sessions, and a landowner who would never allow a two-stroke on the farm will frequently say yes to a bike that makes no more noise than a mountain bike. Ask, and take the answer in writing if it is not a formal venue.
Why buy Ultra Bee 2026 from Surron E-Bikes
The difference between a dealer and a box-shifter shows up after the sale. We are an authorised Sur-Ron dealer: the bike arrives through official UK distribution, we inspect and charge it in our own workshop, we stock the parts it will need over its life, and warranty claims are dealt with by the people who sold it to you. Our warranty page explains what is covered.
If you want to see a bike first, book a showroom visit. We are in Coalville, Leicestershire, easy to reach from the M1 and M42, with parking outside the door.
Whether you collect or we deliver, the hand-over is the same: battery in and out, charger connected, ride modes explained, seat set for the rider, paperwork in your hand. Ask anything then or on WhatsApp afterwards; the person who answers is the person who checked the bike.
Visiting is the quickest way to settle any question about fit or feel. We are in Coalville, Leicestershire, open weekdays 9am to 5pm; the M1, M42 and A42 all pass within a few minutes of the door. Arrange a showroom visit, tell us the rider’s height, and we will have the right bike ready.

A few terms that come up in every conversation about these bikes:
- PDI – pre-delivery inspection: the checks a dealer makes before the bike leaves.
- Big Wheel / Small Wheel – the two Hyper Bee wheel formats, 14/12 and 12/10 inches.
- Ride modes – selectable power levels; Mode 1 is the gentlest.
- EAPC – electrically assisted pedal cycle, the 250 W legal e-bike category the Sur-Ron range is not part of.
- L1e – the EU/UK moped vehicle class; the Light Bee L1E is type-approved in it.
- Grey import – a bike bought abroad and shipped privately, usually without a UK warranty.
- Certificate of conformity – the document needed to register a type-approved bike with the DVLA.
- Energy recovery – regenerative braking that puts charge back into the battery on a closed throttle.
Buy Ultra Bee 2026: questions we get asked
- “Can I buy Ultra Bee 2026 as an X and add the T’s lights?” You can add lights; you cannot add type approval. It stays off-road only.
- “Is the T slower than the X?” No. Same motor, same modes, same 59 mph.
- “If I buy Ultra Bee 2026 T, is it a moped or a motorcycle?” A motorcycle in the A1 class – CBT from 17, not 16.
- “Does either come with the charger?” Yes, the 1000 W charger stows on the bike.
- “What if I buy Ultra Bee 2026 and change my mind about X or T?” Tell us before it is dispatched and we will swap the order if the other model is in stock.
Owning a Ultra Bee HP costs a fraction of running a petrol equivalent. The 74 V 60 Ah pack charges in about 2.5 hours from 20% to 80% from a normal socket for pennies, and there is no engine oil, no air filter, no valve clearances and no clutch to replace. What wears is brake pads, the chain and sprockets and tyres – stocked in our Ultra Bee HP parts range.
Battery care is the whole maintenance story. Keep it between roughly 20% and 80% when it is not being used, do not charge it while it is still hot from a hard ride, and never leave it empty over winter. Do that and the pack will hold its capacity for years.
