If you have been researching Sur-Ron bikes in the Midlands you will have come across Volt Viper, and you may have noticed their branding on some of the product photos on this site. This guide explains who Volt Viper is, what they sell, how Surron E-Bikes relates to them, and what that means for you as a buyer. We have kept it factual: everything below is either from Volt Viper’s own published information or from how our shop actually works.
Surron E-Bikes is an independent, third-party webshop. Alongside genuine Sur-Ron bikes and parts we list selected products from other brands, including Volt Viper, with their consent. That is the relationship, and the rest of this guide fills in the detail.

Fact 1: who Volt Viper is
Volt Viper is a UK Sur-Ron specialist based in Leicestershire, in the Midlands. According to their own website they are an official, authorised Sur-Ron dealer with a showroom, a workshop that sets up and PDI-checks bikes, finance options, national bike delivery and collection across the Midlands, and after-sales support. They sell the full Sur-Ron range – Hyper Bee, Light Bee X, Light Bee L1E, Ultra Bee HP X and T – along with genuine Sur-Ron parts and accessories.

Fact 2: what Volt Viper sells
The Volt Viper catalogue is built around Sur-Ron: the four current bikes, and parts across handlebars, wheels and tyres, frame and body, electrical, maintenance items and clothing. They describe their bikes as officially imported through Sur-Ron’s UK distribution, with a full warranty and a UK set-up, and they publish guides on ownership, upgrades and finance. If you are in the Midlands and want to see a Sur-Ron in person, they are one of the places to do it.
Fact 3: how Surron E-Bikes relates to Volt Viper
Surron E-Bikes is a third-party webshop. We sell genuine Sur-Ron bikes and parts, and we also list selected products from other brands with their consent – Volt Viper among them. That is why you may see Volt Viper branding on some of the product photography here: those images were supplied for products we stock with their agreement. We are not Volt Viper, we do not speak for them, and any question about their own showroom, finance or warranty terms should go to them directly.
What we can speak for is how buying from Surron E-Bikes works: our prices, our pre-delivery inspection in Coalville, our delivery van, our deposit scheme and our workshop. Those are set out below so you can compare on facts.
Fact 4: what buying from Surron E-Bikes looks like
| Bike | Who it is for | Road legal | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hyper Bee 2026 | Children and smaller adults; play riding | No | £2,995 |
| Light Bee X 2026 | Teenagers and adults; trails and tracks | No | From £3,295 |
| Light Bee L1E 2026 | Road riders from 16 with a CBT; commuting plus trails | Yes – L1e moped | £4,499 |
| Ultra Bee HP 2026 | Experienced adults; full-size motocross pace | HP T only (A1 class) | X £5,999 / T £6,295 |
- Pick your colour on the Light Bee X product page and add the bike to your basket, or message us on WhatsApp with what you want.
- Choose delivery in our own van (£19.99 within 150 miles of our LE67 postcode, quoted beyond that) or free collection from the showroom in Coalville.
- Pay by bank transfer or cryptocurrency. We never print bank details on the website; they are emailed to you from contact@surronebike.org once you have ordered.
- We confirm payment, carry out the pre-delivery inspection and either book your delivery date or tell you the bike is ready to collect. Orders are processed within 24 hours.
If you would rather secure a bike now and pay the balance a little later, our reservation plan lets you hold a Light Bee X with a 50% deposit. There is no credit application and no waiting for a decision: you pay half, the bike comes off sale, and the remaining 50% is paid before delivery or collection on a date agreed with you.

Fact 5: the checks that matter whoever you buy from
Whether you buy from Volt Viper, from Surron E-Bikes or from anyone else, the same seven checks separate a good purchase from a bad one.
- Is the seller an authorised Sur-Ron dealer, or clear about where the bike came from?
- Is it the 2026 model with a UK-plug charger, and does the price include VAT?
- Who handles the warranty, and where?
- What does the pre-delivery inspection cover?
- Is there an invoice with frame and battery serial numbers?
- Are genuine parts available from the same place?
- Does a real person answer a question before you buy?
Both Volt Viper and Surron E-Bikes publish answers to those questions; that is a good sign in any seller.
Fact 6: the bikes are the same wherever you buy
A UK-spec 2026 Light Bee X is a UK-spec 2026 Light Bee X. What varies between sellers is price, what is included, the inspection, the aftercare and how the bike reaches you – not the bike itself. Here is the 2026 range side by side so you can compare listings on the right numbers.
| Bike | Peak power | Weight | Range | Road legal | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hyper Bee 2026 | 8 kW | 39 kg | 56 km | No | £2,995 |
| Light Bee X 2026 | 10 kW | 59 kg | 75 km | No | From £3,295 |
| Light Bee L1E 2026 | 10 kW | 62 kg | 75 km | Yes – L1e moped | £4,499 |
| Ultra Bee HP 2026 | 24.5 kW | 88.5 kg | 115 km | HP T only | From £5,999 |
For reference, here is the complete 2026 Light Bee X specification as Sur-Ron UK publishes it.
| Specification | Light Bee X 2026 |
|---|---|
| Motor | new mid-mounted motor, 10 kW peak, 295 Nm at the rear wheel |
| Top speed | 50 mph (80 km/h) |
| Acceleration | 0–19 mph in 1.29 s, 0–31 mph in 2.5 s |
| Battery | 72 V 35 Ah lithium-ion (2.5 kWh), removable, 20–80% in 2.15 hours |
| Range | up to 75 km (46.6 miles) at 24.9 mph |
| Weight | 59 kg kerb, 100 kg carrying capacity |
| Frame | forged aluminium alloy, 1255 mm wheelbase |
| Suspension | 200 mm front fork travel, 85 mm rear shock travel |
| Wheels and tyres | 19″ front (70/100-19), 18″ rear (3.00-18) off-road |
| Brakes | four-piston hydraulic front and rear |
| Modes | Sport and Eco with a two-level adjustable throttle |
| Colours | Black, White, Lapis Blue, Purple, Sage Green |
Fact 7: what the law says, whoever sells the bike
| Category | What it is | Law | Sur-Ron example |
|---|---|---|---|
| EAPC (e-bike) | Pedal-assist bicycle, 250 W, cuts out at 15.5 mph | No licence, tax or insurance; ride anywhere a bicycle can | None – Sur-Rons are not EAPCs |
| L1e moped | Type-approved two-wheeler limited to 45 km/h | Register, tax, insure; ride from 16 with a CBT | Light Bee L1E |
| L3e motorcycle (A1) | Type-approved motorcycle, 125-equivalent | Register, tax, insure; CBT from 17 or full licence | Ultra Bee HP T |
| Off-road e-moto | No type approval; private land and venues only | No licence, tax or registration; never on public land | Hyper Bee, Light Bee X, Ultra Bee HP X |
That means private land with the landowner’s permission, pay-and-play venues, motocross practice tracks that welcome electric bikes and farmland. Public roads, pavements, parks, footpaths, bridleways and byways are all out; they count as places the public has access to, and riding a motor vehicle on them is an offence whatever powers it.
Neither Volt Viper nor Surron E-Bikes can make an off-road model road legal; only the Light Bee L1E and Ultra Bee HP T carry type approval.

Buying from Surron E-Bikes: delivery, workshop and parts
We do not post bikes in a box. A Light Bee X is pre-delivery inspected and charged in Coalville, then driven to you in our van (£19.99 inside 150 miles of the showroom, a quote beyond that) or handed over in person if you collect. Collection is free, and it is the best option if you want to sit on the bike, ask questions and see the parts counter.
Timescales are short: orders are processed within 24 hours of payment clearing, and most deliveries happen within a few days depending on where you are. If anything arrives damaged, our returns policy explains exactly what happens next.
The difference between a dealer and a box-shifter shows up after the sale. We are an authorised Sur-Ron dealer: the bike arrives through official UK distribution, we inspect and charge it in our own workshop, we stock the parts it will need over its life, and warranty claims are dealt with by the people who sold it to you. Our warranty page explains what is covered.
If you want to see a bike first, book a showroom visit. We are in Coalville, Leicestershire, easy to reach from the M1 and M42, with parking outside the door.
The showroom and workshop are in Coalville, Leicestershire (LE67 2QE), ten minutes from junction 22 of the M1 and close to the M42, which puts Leicester, Nottingham, Derby and Birmingham within forty minutes and London, Manchester, Sheffield and Bristol within about two hours. We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with parking outside the door. Book a visit and we will have the bike you are interested in ready to sit on.

If any of the terminology is new, here is a quick glossary:
- PDI – pre-delivery inspection: the checks a dealer makes before the bike leaves.
- Big Wheel / Small Wheel – the two Hyper Bee wheel formats, 14/12 and 12/10 inches.
- Ride modes – selectable power levels; Mode 1 is the gentlest.
- EAPC – electrically assisted pedal cycle, the 250 W legal e-bike category the Sur-Ron range is not part of.
- L1e – the EU/UK moped vehicle class; the Light Bee L1E is type-approved in it.
- Grey import – a bike bought abroad and shipped privately, usually without a UK warranty.
- Certificate of conformity – the document needed to register a type-approved bike with the DVLA.
- Energy recovery – regenerative braking that puts charge back into the battery on a closed throttle.
Volt Viper questions we get asked
- “Is this the Volt Viper website?” No. This is Surron E-Bikes, an independent webshop that lists some Volt Viper products with their consent.
- “Can I collect a Volt Viper order from your showroom?” Anything ordered from Surron E-Bikes can be collected from Coalville. Orders placed with Volt Viper are collected from them.
- “Are Volt Viper prices the same as yours?” Each business sets its own prices; compare like for like – VAT, charger, inspection, delivery.
- “Who handles a warranty on a Volt Viper product bought here?” Surron E-Bikes, as the seller. Contact us first.
- “Do you recommend Volt Viper?” We stock their products with their consent, which tells you what we think of them. Beyond that, ask them directly.
On hand-over – at the showroom or from the van – we show you how the battery locks in and lifts out, how the charger connects, how to switch ride modes, and where the serial numbers are. It takes ten minutes and it saves a lot of messages later. If the rider is there, we set the seat height and pick a starting mode with them.
Where do people actually ride? Three places, mostly: their own or a friend’s land, a pay-and-play venue, and a practice track or club. The first is free but needs permission; the second costs a day fee and provides marked routes and marshals; the third adds coaching and racing. Phone any venue before you go to confirm it takes electric bikes and the rider’s age.

| Registration, tax, MOT | None – off-road only |

- Charge the battery fully indoors and fit it until it clicks.
- Check tyre pressures, the chain tension and that both brakes bite firmly.
- Set the seat height so the rider can get a foot down, and select Mode 1.
- Ride slowly on flat ground first – the throttle is instant and there is no clutch to modulate it.
